Pomorosso, Nizza DOCG

Pomorosso is our most important Barbera: 100% Barbera in Nizza DOCG, the eighteen Monferrato villages where the grape does its best, aged fourteen months in barrique — more than twice the wood the appellation requires.
The 2022 vintage was named Best in Show at the Decanter World Wine Awards: the first Barbera ever to enter the selection of the world’s 50 finest wines. Read the full story →
The first vintage was produced in 1984, when Barbera was still thought of as an everyday wine and almost no one believed it could age. Pomorosso did much to change that.
The name comes from a red apple tree that grew at the top of the original vineyard.
