40 years of Pomorosso - Coppo

The iconic Coppo label celebrates 40 years of history and success.

This Nizza DOCG owes its name to the presence, on the top of the original vineyard, of a red apple tree. Without any doubt the most prestigious Barbera among those produced by Coppo, which contributed essentially to the rebirth of this vine.

Produced for the first time in 1984, Pomorosso immediately reached the top quality of the company’s production, inaugurating a new course for Barbera, until then considered a humble and popular wine. Thanks to careful selection in the vineyard and the skilful use of barrique for the refinement phase, the Barbera vine achieves surprising elegance and finesse in this wine, which have made it the symbol of a small revolution.

Several awards and recognitions continue to testify to the success of Pomorosso, awarded with the 3 GAMBERO ROSSO glasses for 14 consecutive years.

A warm, vigorous and structured Nizza, of rare elegance and expressiveness. Typical hints of fruit and spices combine with earthy nuances and toasted distinctions due to the 14-month aging in barrique. The taste is full, intense, persistent, soft and generous.
